Taking It To The Streets: Promoting Diversity In NY, DC And Maryland

We launched my “Diversity Makes America Great ” campaign featuring my painting, “What Makes America Great” painting on Presidents’ Day. I was in NY passing out a few hundred posters to protesters at the “Not My President Day” rally, while our 17 foot mobile billboard circled around the White house, Capitol Building, Trump International Hotel and other hot spots around DC.  Howard Dean and Michael D'Antuono holding the artists Diversity posterThe next day we traveled to our nation’s capitol with our banner to see our mobile billboard in action. In the shadow of the Democratic Convention, Rock The Vote’s issue oriented event, Truth To Power gathered  A-list entertainers, politicians, activists and artists. I exhibited with Banksy, Shepard Fairey and my friend Ron English, along with many other talented artists. Corey Booker, Van Jones, Susan Sarandon, Rosario Dawson, Danny Glover all spoke on panels. There were musical performances by Black Eyed Peas and Aloe Blac.

Once again I had a great time at Politicon. I exhibited several of my paintings and autographed about 300 posters of my official Politicon posters (above) for VIPs and talent alike. Politicians, entertainers, pundits and artists got together did what they do best like President Vincente Fox, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, James Carvel, Larry Wilmore, Van Jones, Cenk Ugur and many more.

The Museum Of Drug Policy Show took place in April of 2016. Great art, film, poetry and musical performances along with inspirational speeches by Russell Simmons, Melissa Harris Perry and others at this event helped raise awareness of the unfair drug policy responsible for our mass incarceration problem.

“What’s Right, What’s Left: Democracy in America”

what's right opening wideWhat’s Right, What’s Left: Democracy in America: I was happy to lend my painting, “Blood Money” to this meaningful Chelsea exhibit as the opening coincided with President Obama’s executive action on gun control. The opening was successful with select artists from all over the world participating. The exhibit runs January 7 – January 30, 2016 at the Phoenix Gallery Landmark Arts Building, Chelsea 548 West 28th Street, Suite 528.
