Donald Trumps’s pick for secretary of education, Betsy DeVos, has been an advocate of charter schools and vouchers, which take away funding from our public schools to fund private schools at taxpayers’ expense. Their aim of  privatizing (read profitize) primary education will destroy public education, widen the opportunity gap and create a “class system” for generations.
